He said if we lost connection my account would be in danger. I asked him if I could have his phone number and call him back or I could visit the apple store near me to fix the problem. He said "no" and tried to get me to install it again. This was a huge redflag and I immediately uninstalled the program and asked if he could still see my desktop. He had me install a program from "" which gave him access to my desktop and all of sudden I could see a new mouse cursor on my screen moving around. He spoke very quickly with urgency in his voice so I didn't have time to process what was going on. He claimed my icloud had been breached and my bank accounts were being hacked overseas through my IP address and he needed to walk me through how to stop them. On the other line was a person with a very thick Indian accent (not trying to be politically incorrect) and introduced himself as "Alex Plaskett" of Apple Technical Support. ![]() The call back number was Apple Support's actual number. ![]() I'm posting this in hopes of warning others. I'm hoping I realized soon enough that no damage has been done. ![]() Unfortunately, I stupidly fell for a scam.
